Reem Al Nasser is a Saudi contemporary artist and researcher whose work is deeply informed by personal experiences, close observations of cultural change, and the dynamics of movement and mobility within her surroundings. Through photography, graffiti, video, and sound installations, she brings forth untold stories that probe the psychological obscurity of human nature, reflecting its contradictions, complexities, and the often-absurd aspects of social existence. Her sensory installations are aphoristic and direct, casting back the tension inherent in the themes she explores.
Al Nasser’s practice relies heavily on anthropological research, employing an ethnographic visual approach to examine questions of culture, gender, social systems, and human relationships. She positions herself at the forefront of case studies, merging practical social sciences with metaphysical ideas about time, space, and history. This multidisciplinary lens allows her to create artworks that are at once analytical, poetic, and immersive.
She holds a degree in Home Economics from Jazan University (2011), and pursued advanced studies in Medical Astrology in the United States, obtaining both first and second degrees in 2024, alongside membership in the World Federation of Astrologers. In the same year, she completed an introductory course in astrology. Her engagement with cultural heritage and preservation is reflected in her participation in the Digital Transformation of Arab Archives towards Smart Data (Cairo, 2025), the International Training Program in Museums (Cairo, 2025), and specialized training in the Treatment and Conservation of Archaeological Textiles and Museum Sciences (Cairo, 2025).
Through this intersection of art, research, and cultural preservation, Al Nasser reimagines the relationship between the individual, society, and the metaphysical dimensions of history and memory.
